This is Marc Brette’s presentation, he apparently canceled at the last minute, so the Q&A may be a little weak (Pierre-Yves knows this stuff well from what I can tell).

EMC World 2008: Content Management and Archiving Keynote
I’ve got my coffee and I’m sitting in a beanbag getting ready for the CMA Keynote from Mark Lewis. Before I dive in, some random thoughts on the previous day.
- Met with Lee Dallas and hung out for quite a while. It was a lot of fun and I’m looking forward to meeting Marko.
- Met Craig Randall. Unfortunately we were both pulled in different directions before we could set a time up to get a cold beverage and chat. One of my developers sat in one of his sessions and was impressed with his depth of knowledge.
- For some reason, it feels like I won’t be able to attend all the sessions that I need to attend. I’d have to look, but I think there may be less
- A Play the Cloud update. I have 25 connections at a strength of 27%. If you aren’t playing, jump in.

EMC World 2008: Standards-Based Enterprise Content Management: The Future of ECM
Overheard a comment that lowered my hopes for this presentation. They are working on an ECM SOA standard with other vendors. Everything else is NDA, but we may hear something in September. Let’s see what Patricia Anderson from EMC will share.
EMC World 2008: Documentum 6.5 Architecture Overview
Time for an update on the architecture. Victor Spivak is presenting. He knows his stuff, so hopefully it’ll be a good one. I know waaay too many people in this room. I’ll never get to say hello to all of them. This is by far the most crowded session.

Running into all sorts of old colleagues and friends. Seen others that I am going to have to flag down soon. Anyway on to Kenwood Tsai and Harish Rawat of EMC.
ECM World 2008: Keynote and Random thoughts
So I am sitting in the Summit Leader’s Club Lounge (Going to be here quite a bit as this is where the coffee was hiding), and about to overhear the keynote. Not going to pay 100% attention as this is a good time to get some work done. However, let’s see if Joe Tucci can grab my attention.
- Charity rocks. They have set-up a giving center for the victims of the China Earthquake. EMC is going to match all individual contributions during the conference. You can make a contribution in the Cyber Cafe.
- Some of the sessions will be available on YouTube.
- Lots on the incredible growth of data in the world. I already new this. It keeps me employed.
- New “focus” is Information Infrastructure. (This is the same basic thing as Transparent ECM).
Nothing else seems to be grabbing my attention. Going to either Building Composite Applications with Documentum Process Suite or the CSC SharePoint presentation next. Leaning to the BPM one as it looks more technical.

EMC World 2008: ECM Shared Services in the Real World
It came down to this and creating applications in TaskSpace. I figured that since this was panel oriented, it would be more important to actually be present for this presentation. It was harder when you realized that this isn’t technical and more business-oriented.
