I also just noticed that iECM seems to have fallen off the radar. Sometime last year I heard that it might be fading away.

Meanwhile, I am roadmapping future ODMA work at
http://orcmid.com/BlunderDome/clueless/2008/02/dmware-odma-futures-roadmap.asp

It's still fat-client centric.

By the way, I thought WebDAV versioning (DeltaV) had been approved. I've lost track of the Authentication (ACL) part though.

Hey Laurence, your mention of the ODMA sweet spot is interesting. I'm looking around to see if there is any interest in preserving that with a cleanup for ODMA64 in the 64-bit world. I have a post about it here:
http://orcmid.com/BlunderDome/clueless/2007/11/dmware-how-about-that-odma64.asp

I'm hoping to arrange a huddle about this at AIIM 2008 next March in Boston. I will also be posting more on the status of ODMA and some activities to tighten up ODMA32.

Bex. I'm right there with you on Extensibility. I will have to look at JSON. I haven't made any decision on what technology backbone to prefer at this point. REST is trailing, but not out yet.

I have more to learn still and I appreciate your inputs.

As for iECM, I'll have a post on that soon.

looks like iECM got gobbled up by AIIM... I'm concerned that there's no more public wiki.

IMHO, <b>Extensibility is the key</b> in an ECM standard. That's why I prefer a loose, data-driven, JSON-based web service protocol.

Laurence, last time you and I met at the Momentum part of EMC World back in May, I asked many EMC people why they were not supporting JSR170 and its successor. The answer was, that they were concentrating on iECM instead.

As a member of AIIM, I would like iECM to be your (actualy 'our') panacea, but where is it ? It appears to have gone very quiet ! Lets keep our fingers crossed that in the end something (very) good will come out of it.
